Michael Battey is a distinguished real estate broker and Director of Retail Leasing at Franklin Street in Orlando, Florida. Born into a military family, Michael's early life saw him move from Germany to Korea before settling in Maine, where he graduated high school in 1998. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys cooking, having previously worked as a chef, as well as painting, drawing, playing basketball, and spending time with his wife.

Michael is a retail leasing expert, specializing in landlord and tenant leasing throughout Central Florida. At Franklin Street, he is dedicated to assisting owners of shopping centers and other retail properties in maximizing their investments by securing high-quality tenants. Additionally, he helps retail clients find commercial spaces that align with their strategic goals and business needs.

With 15 years of experience in the Central Florida retail market, Michael brings a wealth of market knowledge, sharp negotiation skills, and valuable industry relationships to the Franklin Street team. His career in commercial real estate began with CBRE in 2006, where he worked with major retailers such as Five Guys, Countrywide Home Mortgage, Charles Schwab, and 7-Eleven. He also collaborated with regional and institutional owners and developers, including TIAA CREF, TC Met, and Invesco. Michael has represented numerous financial institutions on both the buyer and seller sides, such as RBC Centura, PNC Bank, Regions/Amsouth Bank, CenterState Bank, BB&T, and TD Bank. His expertise extends to Partial Asset Dispositions (PAD) assignments as well.

After over a decade with CBRE, Michael transitioned to Harbert Realty Services as the Director of Retail Leasing and Sales for Central Florida, where he played a key role in establishing the company’s presence as a full-service commercial office in Orlando. He joined Franklin Street in June 2021, where he continues to leverage his extensive experience and expertise to facilitate transactions and explore opportunities in property development.
