Brad Thoreson is a Shareholder at Buchalter and Chair of the firm’s Pacific Northwest Litigation Practice Group, based in the Seattle office. With more than three decades of experience, he focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation with a strong emphasis on real estate disputes. He has represented some of the nation’s largest property owners, developers, and investment firms in high-stakes matters often exceeding tens of millions of dollars.
His work spans trial, appellate, and supreme court levels across multiple states, where he has handled substantial real property disputes, contract conflicts, and “bet-the-company” litigation. Brad has resolved cases involving securities, troubled investments, construction, and title-related issues, frequently securing outcomes that protect business continuity and financial stability. His experience also extends to arbitration and the negotiation of private company disputes involving significant assets.
Widely respected in the legal community, Brad has been consistently recognized on the Washington Super Lawyers list for nearly two decades and has received distinctions from national organizations, including America’s Top 50 Lawyers and Martindale-Hubbell’s AV rating. In addition to his practice, he serves in leadership roles with professional and civic organizations and teaches graduate-level business law as an adjunct faculty member at Seattle Pacific University.
